Bones

The boys have become obsessed with skeletons and bones and pretty much all things "spooky" due to the Halloween season (yay! Love this holiday!) The other day in the car the were having an argument over skeletons. This is what I heard:

Baron: "Skeletons live outside."

Jackson: "No, Bear. Skeletons are in your body. I'm serious. The are inside your skin!"

Baron: "Ahh! That's disgusting!!"

Baron says that word (disgusting) all the time. Name that movie where that word is quoted and made fun of....... got it?

The movie is Hitch :)

Vitamins

Jackson and Baron LOVE taking their gummy vitamins everyday (you know, the ones that are just like gummy bears?) The other day we were at Baskin Robins getting some ice cream with the Jensens in celebration of their Jack's 5th birthday. In between the many flavors of ice cream they had some candy toppings, one of which was gummy bears. Baron saw these and said, "Mom! They even have vitamins here!"

Jackson and Baron love candy, and of course absolutely love ice cream. They are most definitely mine and John's kids.

Before I was born...

Tonight in the car on the way home the boys and I were talking about how they grew in my belly and then were born, but not at the same time. They had been arguing over who came first. After talking about it for a while, Baron says,

"Mom, before I growed in your tummy and was borned.... Did you miss me?"

I love my boys. I cannot even begin to express my gratitude and joy for having them in my life. They are truly gifts from Heavenly Father and I feel so blessed to be able to be their mother and get to spend every day learning and growing with them. It is the greatest job ever.

And yes..... I missed him =)

Fast Sunday

Fast Sunday in our religion is the first Sunday of the month that is set aside for the members to fast (go without food for 24 hrs) for a purpose/need. We also, after taking the sacrament at church that Sunday, do not have any talks/sermons. Instead, the members have the opportunity to bear their testimony to the congregation.

Here's a conversation that happened last Sunday as we were getting ready for church:

Jackson to John: "Dad, is today Fast Sunday?"

John: "Nope, today is not Fast Sunday. That was last week."

Jackson: "Oh.... so today is just a slow sunday?"

Love that kid :)

Where were you born?

With a 4 and 2 year old, dinner conversations are almost always hilarious. This was part of our conversation last night:

Jackson: "Where was I born?"
Daddy: "In a hospital in Eugene"
Mommy: "It was the same place Daddy and Grandpa were born too!"

Jackson: "Where were you born Mommy?"
Mommy: "In a hospital in California, the same one Grammie was born in!"

Jackson: "Where was Baron born?"

Baron: "I was born at Costco!"

It is true you can buy just about everything there! I wonder if he really thinks we went to Costco and picked him out =)

Jackson and Baron were arguing in the car the other day non stop over the same thing. I don't even know what it was, but it was one of those "It's blue" "No its red" "No blue!" "No RED!" "BLUE!" "RED!!" type of arguments. The argument was going back and forth just like then, when finally, Baron, (the 2 year old) gave a long, frustrated sigh and says, "I'm done with you Jackson."

I was laughing so hard in the front seat. I am pretty sure I have said that a time or two during a toddler tantrum/power struggle.

Hide-and-go-Seek

Colby came to visit us during his spring break! The boys had SO much fun with him! They wrestled, built forts together, had tickle fights and all kinds of boy fun. One of their favorite things they did together at our place was playing Hide-and-go-seek. They had so much fun playing. My favorite was Baron.... he is so darn cute. When it was Colby's turn to count, Baron would say to him, "Ok, I'm going to go hide in the closet." and then when looking for him, all you had to do was say, "Baron, where are you?" and he would yell back, "I'm in here!" He's not so good at hiding yet :) . Someday he will learn not to give his hiding spot away!
