Wrong Kid!!

This morning I was exhausted. Baron decided to wake up at 1 in the morning and freak out and scream for an hour no matter what I did to try to console him. We think that he has nightmares every now and then because he is totally out of it and wakes up really mad. ANYWAYS, John is out of town at a training, so I've been left to handle the kids and the apartments all by myself all week. This morning Jackson asked for his milk when he woke up. I poured his milk for him and then the phone started ringing. I handed the sippy cup to the closest kid without thinking and went to answer the phone. While I was on the phone, the kids started arguing and fighting. When I hung up the phone, I realized what was going on when I heard this:

"No Bear! That's the wrong kid!! That's my milk! Mommy?? That's the wrong kid!!"

Apparently I had handed the milk to Baron and not Jackson without even noticing. Baron was all excited to get it, but Jackson was not letting his milk get away from him!

Bouncy Ball Woes

Jackson got a bouncy ball while trick or treating. Today he discovered how to make it bounce off the kitchen floor and run after it. He was doing that when I heard him say, "Oh no! Bouncy ball broken!" Apparently rubber bouncy balls can break right down the middle. The funny part is what he said next:

"We should take the ball to the Dr. and fix it"

I think he needs a Dr. kit for his birthday because he is just so fascinated with Dr. stuff right now!

Chocolate Juice

10/19ish/09?

We had to run a bunch of errands for the apartments and it was pouring rain all day in the city of Portland. After one of our errands we decided to pick up some hot chocolate from the popular Dutch Bros stand to warm us back up. Jackson calls his hot chocolate, "Chocolate Juice". I was pretty excited about mine and took a sip like I always seem to do before it actually cools down enough to drink.

Me: "Ouch!"
Jackson: "You ok Mommy?"
Me: "Yeah, Mommy just burnt her tongue on the chocolate juice.... we need to wait for it to cool down."
Jackson: "You need to go to the Dr., Mommy?"
Me: "No, I don't need to go to the Dr."
Jackson: "You need a band-aid on your tongue?"
Me: "No, I think I'll be ok, but thanks Bud."
Jackson" "Your welcome Mommy"

Oh how I wish everything could really be solved just by putting a band-aid on! To a 2 almost 3 year old, it does solve everything.

Haven't Given Up....

I know its been a long time since I have posted on here.... life has been SO busy for us. But I decided that instead of waiting until I catch up on here with all the posts I have written in a journal, I will just post when something happens and is fresh. So basically, there may be posts out of order and all over the place date wise, but it's better than not writing!

Seen: Mommy and Daddy kissing in the kitchen after dinner

Heard: (from Jackson of course:) "Hey!!! What are you guys doing?!"

Also heard from Jackson: kissing noises as we continue kissing and ignore him- hey, it's been a long, stressful week and John's going out of town next week for a training :)

7/7/09

I woke up this morning to Baby Bear babbling in his crib on the monitor. When I went to get him, he was just lying on his back with both legs stuck through the crib bars, just talking happily away. He didn't even mind that his chubby little legs were stuck. I love it when he wakes up so happy in the mornings! If only we could all wake up like that...

Splish splash I was taking a bath....

7/6/09

Baby Bear and Jackson love bath time every night. All I have to do is turn on the water and they come running/crawling in as fast as possible and start trying to take their clothes off. This day in July was the first time that Baron figured out how to splash like crazy in the bath. Jackson thought that was awesome and so they started a huge splashing war, splashing each other and giggling like crazy. It was pretty cute, but also made for a very wet bathroom and a very wet mommy. After a while I said, "Ok, Ok, I think we're about done. Bear, you ready to get out?" To which Jackson replied, "No. He's still playing." It was so cute that I couldn't help but let them splash around a little longer. That's the perks I guess of having an older brother to be able to speak for you!

For the Love of Costco

Jackson absolutely loves going to Costco. It may be the tasty samples or the big trash trucks they always seem to have in the toy section, or it may be because every time we go we always leave with some frozen yogurt and a churro, but now matter what it is he sure loves that place! A few months ago I asked, "Should we go to the grocery store? Jacksons reply: "No, I wanna go Costco!" And just yesterday when he woke up from his nap and I told him we were going to Costco, to which he replied "YAY!! Costco!! Wahoo!" I have never seen such an enthusiastic response to anything else before! He is definitely my kid because I also love Costco!

BFF JACK

6/16/09

Jackson absolutely loves playing with his BFF, Jack Jensen. They are only 2 months apart in age. The other day I told Jackson I was taking him out to Jack's house to play and he got really excited. When I was on the street right before the one The Jensen's live on and came up to the turn, Jackson yelled, "Turn turn turn turn!!" And after I did turn onto the street that they lived on, he said, "Oh, nice turn mommy!" He sure loves his buddy Jack!

Full on Talker

It is a whole new adventure with Jackson now that he can really talk and say full on sentences. It also makes for some funny things to hear. My favorite is when he tries to talk like an adult to me. Like when he leaves the room and says, "Be right back mommy, ok?" Or in the car the other day when he said to me from his carseat in the backseat, "Look at you! Driving the car!" like it was my first time. He continues to crack me up and surprise me with how darn smart he is getting!

Playing Catch Up

This past month has been a busy whirlwind for us, but finally I am getting some time to play catch up and post a bunch of new stuff. The reason for having some time happens to be that the kids decided 6am was a great time to get up on a Saturday morning, ugh, and poor John is working today due to busy season. So I thought I would use this time to do some blogging!

The Victoria Secret Manikin

I am FINALLY getting a few minutes to sit down and blog! Wahoo. Here are some posts I have been meaning to do!

I didn't start writing things down until a few months after Baron was born, but since then I've tried hard to write things the day anything funny happens. In the journal I just made some notes of things that I loved that Jackson would say when Baron was a newborn. My favorites are when Baron would cry, Jackson would go up to him and say things like, "What's wrong kid??" or "It's ok Baron". He was very fascinated by his new brother and always wanted to help with diaper changes and burping him and things like that. We were very lucky Jackson never got really jealous or acted out from having a new brother. He is definitely going to be a great big brother!

JANUARY 30, 2009

My family was able to come up for Baron's Baby Blessing, which we did in church Feb. 1st. My parents and younger brother flew in Friday afternoon and we had A LOT of fun showing them a little around Portland and just having them here was a blast! Friday night they took us out to eat at Red Robin, and then afterwards we walked around an outdoor mall that was close by, looking for a frozen yogurt store. At one point, my mom was pushing Baron in his stroller and talking to John, and Jackson and I were walking behind them a short ways with my dad and younger brother who is only 12. When we walked past the Victoria Secret store, I noticed that there was a manikin in the window wearing of course a very skimpy, lacy bra and underwear only. It was one of those awkward moments where you usually just keep talking and walk by quickly. BUT, good old 2 year old Jackson instead runs right up to the window, plants both hands on the glass, stares straight at it and says, "WHOA! LOOK AT THAT!" After that we all started cracking up and couldn't stop laughing about it for the rest of the night! I could barely explain what happened to my mom and John because I was laughing so hard. And of course you really had to be there to hear exactly how he said it, but it is something I will always laugh and smile about when I read this, and I know my brother and Dad will too!

Welcome!!

I have been wanting to make a blog where I could write about all the funny things our kids do for a while now and I finally just sat down and started one! I am still in the process of adding entries that I have written down in just a simple journal over the past few months, so I will gradually add more until I am all up to date. I am really excited to have this blog set up finally because I really think laughing together and remembering fun times together brings our family closer together and helps us get through hard times. So we have mainly set this up for ourselves, but if you are visiting this blog we hope you enjoy it and share some laughs with us! We would also love to hear any funny stories you may have as well... feel free to leave a comment about it... we can always use more laughs!
